Footsteps of st paul Malta, Sicily and Rome

Shipwreck with the relics of the saint’s hand. Our next visit is St. John’s Co-Cathedral, whose opulent interior is home to the Caravaggio masterpiece, “The Beheading of St. John”, and where we inspect the tombs. Free time for lunch in Valetta. Dinner is at leisure tonight. Overnight at our hotel. Day 5 - Malta, Sicily, Syracuse, Taromina Today, we will visit the port city of Pozzalo on the south-east coast of Sicily. From here, we will drive to Syracuse, a journey through a spellbinding landscape of vineyards-lemon, orange and almond trees. Continue to visit the Church of St. John the Baptist where St. Paul preached. In polychrome, ther is a glass rosette depictsan effigy of the saint. After a lunch of typical Sicilian delicacies in a rustic restaurant (on our own), we will visit the Church of St. Lucia and the Church of St. Paul. Before going to Taormin,a we will visit the Greek and Roman Theaters and the Viale Rizzo. Depart Syracuse towards the north, along the sea and arrive in Taorminafor. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. Day 6 - Taormina, Messina, Taormina After breakfast, we will drive a short distance to Messina, where we will enjoy a panoramic tour. We will visit the Bell Tower of the Cathedral of Messina, which contains the biggest and most complex mechanical and astronomical clock in the world. We will visit the Greek Theate. Here, they found the pairing of Etna and the bay of Naxos, with a wonderful view that when the air is clear can reach the coast of Calabria. Continue to the Church of St. Pancrazio, bishop and martyr, patron Saint of Taormina. Dinner

Day 1 - Departure Our journey begins as we depart the USA.

Day 2 - Malta Upon arrival in Malta, we will transfer to the hotel. After check in, we will have time for a stroll before dinner and overnight in Valetta. Day 3 - Malta, Mdina, Rabat After breakfast, we have a full day excursion to Mdina and Rabat. The first stop will be to visit of the site of St. Paul’s shipwreck. We will visit the “Mosta Rotunda” Europe’s third largest free- standing dome in Mosta. We will visit the Catacombs of St. Paul, a fascinating labyrinth of the 3rd-century subterranean tombs and the earliest archaeological evidence of Christianity in Malta. Enjoy free time for lunch before we walk through the streets of Mdina, Malta’s first capital. Visit the cathedral dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, located in the highest elevations of Malta, which has magnificent views of the entire island that can be seen from the imposing bastions. Concluding our sightseeing on the western shore, we view the spectacular Dingli Cliff. Dinner and overnight are at the hotel. Day 4 - Malta, Valetta This morning, we will head to the capital of Malta, Valetta. Our tour takes us through the bustling streets of Valetta allowing views of the Upper Barrakka Gardens that command a breathtaking panorama of the Grand Harbor. Visit the Church of St. Paul’s
