You are Invited to a Catholic Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

After years of hearing the Gospels proclaimed at Mass, after years of proclaiming the Creed and partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass, imagine hearing those Gospels proclaimed, celebrating Mass, and receiving the Body and Blood of Christ in the very places that Jesus was born, baptized, ministered, taught, healed, suffered, died and rose from the dead. When you travel on a Catholic pilgrimage to the Holy Land with EO Catholic Tours, you’ll visit all of these sacred places, and much more. Talk to your priest or deacon about hosting a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Or call us and we will contact your pastor with information and an invitation to expand his ministry by hosting a Catholic pilgrimage. You are of course welcome to join one of our clergy host on an upcoming 8-day Catholic pilgrimage to the Holy Land. This brochure is your invitation. Check out the dates on this page of the brochure. lace works. Wander the streets and enjoy the shops on your way to the Kolossi Castle built by the Order of St. John in 1210 in the city center of Limassol. Take a trip to Paphos from Limassol to explore ancient ruins, archaeological sites and the goddess of love’s mythical birthplace. Travel past the Temple of Apollo on the way to this UNESCO-recognized city, and discover elaborate tombs in a 3rd-century necropolis. October 2 – SEA OF GALILEE, ISRAEL Venture inland to the Sea of Galilee to stand on the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached (Matthew 5). At Tabgha, the traditional location of the feeding of 5,000, you’ll visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves (Luke 9). On the shores of the Sea of Galilee is the Chapel of the Primacy of St. Peter, where three times Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ (John 21). From there, travel to Capernaum where Jesus called Peter, Andrew, James, John (Matt. 4) and later Matthew to be disciples. October 3 & 4 - BETHLEHEM & JERUSALEM While docked in Ashdod, explore Bethlehem, where you will discover the cave revered as the place where Jesus was born (Matt. 1; Luke 2). The Church of the Nativity constructed over the site, is the oldest functioning church. Journey to Jerusalem to see Caiaphas’ House, where Jesus was tried before the Sanhedrin. Stand upon the Mt. of Olives and view the city as Jesus did. See the Ancient olive trees of the Garden of Gethsemane. Wander the Old City to view the Pool of Bethesda, and walk along the Via Dolorosa. Step inside the Church of the Holy Sepluchre, built over the sites of the crucifixion and the resurrection. October 5 - AT SEA October 6 - EPHESUS, TURKEY Ephesus, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, was once a bustling port town graced with wide, colonnade-bordered streets and a population of 250,000. Although spectacular excavations have revealed much of the glory of ancient Ephesus, including the huge Agora and Library, much has been lost. The ancient world once declared the Temple of Artemis to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, but today, only a single column remains to mark its site. View the terrace houses, also known as “the houses of the rich,” which give a true impression of ancient lifestyle. Explore the Museum of Ephesus for an up-close look at ancient artifacts. You will have time to explore on your own and recreate some of the footsteps of Paul.
