Day 9 - Barcelona, Roma After breakfast, we will enjoy a guided tour of Barcelona and visit the Sagrada Familia (inside), Passeig de Gracia, Plaza Catalunya, Montjuic, and Barrio Gotico with Barcelona’s Cathedral. Here, we celebrate Mass. We will depart Barcelona on our direct flight to Rome this afternoon, where will have dinner and stay the night. Day 10 - Roma, Vatican Museums, Basilicas After breakfast, we will enjoy a full-day guided tour of Christian Rome. We start with the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel. Then, we will visit the Basilica of St. Peter, time at leisure for shopping. The Holy Father will bless all the religious items we bring to the Papal Audience. Following lunch, our tour continues at the Holy Stairs and the Basilica of St. John the Lateran; this shrine contains a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus. Here, we will celebrate Mass, where will have dinner and stay the night. Day 11 - Rome, Papal Audience Early this morning, we will transfer to St. Peter’s Square, where the Holy Father will bless us. Following the Papal Audience, we will have time to shop for religious goods. Break for lunch before embarking on a walking tour to see the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. Dinner is on our own tonight. Overnight in Rome. Day 12 - Roma, Orvieto, Assisi Today, we will drive to Assisi via Orvieto, where we will visit the gothic Duomo, built to house the holy relics of the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. We will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we proceed to Assisi, where we will stop to visit the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, containing the famous Porziuncola, have dinner and spend the night.”. Day 13 - Assisi After breakfast, we will meet our local guide for a walking tour through the medieval village of Assisi. The sightseeing tour includes visits to the Church of St. Clare, which houses her incorrupt body. One of the chapels contains the crucifix that bowed its head and ordered St. Francis to “repair God’s Church.” Afterward, we will tour the Basilica of St. Francis, built in 1228 to house the Saint’s Relics. The “upper “ basilica houses beautiful frescoes of Giotto, which describe the life of St. Francis and his community. Mass will be celebrated here at the Basilica of St. Francis. After break for lunch, we will enjoy an afternoon of leisure for personal activities. Day 14 - Assisi, Cascia, Castel Gandolfo After breakfast, we will check out and drive back towards Rome. We will stop in Cascia, where we will celebrate Mass and visit the Monastery and the Shrine of St. Rita, one of the most famous Italian saints. She was a married woman, a mother, a widow, a nun, a stigmatist, and later, a mystic. The Basilica of St. Rita contains her incorrupt body, several relics from her life, and a Eucharistic miracle before her time. Following lunch, we continue to the hilled village of Frascati, south of Rome, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 15 - Return to the USA

A Jubilee Year is celebrated in Santiago de Compostela whenever July 25, the day of Santiago the Elder, falls on a Sunday. Throughout the Jubilee Year, the Puerta Santa (Holy Door), will be open. Pilgrims reaching Santiago during a Holy Year and fulfilling its conditions are granted a plenary indulgence. This means that you can get remission for all of your worldly sins. The next Jubilee year will not occur until 2027.
