Day 9 – Liechtenstein, St. Gallen & Zurich Depart from your Tyrolean village hotel and journey through the Alps to Switzerland. Visit the postage stamp sized country of Liechtenstein on your way. Step back in time and enjoy the Old World charm of its people and places. Continue your journey with a visit to the Abbey of St. Gallen, which houses one of the richest medieval libraries in the world. Arrive in Zurich and check in to your hotel for your four-night stay. Day 10 – Zurich City Tour Enjoy a half-day morning tour of Zurich. Zurich was home to Huldrich Zwingli, a contemporary of Luther and Calvin, leading the call for Reformation. Zwingli served as pastor of the Grossmunster (Great Church) in the 1520’s. Two other churches here deserve attention. The Fraumunster (Our Lady’s Church) has portions of architecture dating to the 13th century, and boasts stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. Finally St. Peter’s Church has the largest church clock face in the world. This afternoon you may choose to join the Rhine Falls optional excursion (price to be announced). Dinner is on own this evening. Day 11 – Lucerne Travel to beautiful Lucerne where you will arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. Enjoy a half-day tour of the 14th century city wall, which boasts nine different watchtowers and is one of the best preserved and longest fortifications in Europe. The colorful painted panels of Lucerne’s famous wooden Kappel Bridge depict the city’s history. See the twin towered Jesuit Church, which is one of the most handsome baroque buildings in Switzerland. For comparison visit the Hofkirche, built in the Renaissance style and the Franciscan Church, which was built in the high Gothic style. We will also view the sad and famous Lion Monument of Lucerne, which Mark Twain called the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world. This afternoon you will have the option to explore more of Lucerne on your own or to take an optional cruise on Lake Lucerne (price to be announced). Day 12 – Interlaken This morning travel to Interlaken, the heart of Switzerland. Flower-lined streets and the surrounding mountains will be familiar postcard images to you. Also familiar will be the towering nearby peaks of the Jungfrau, Eiger and Monch. This afternoon enjoy free time to wander, shop, and explore this town between two lakes, or you can take an optional cog wheel train ride from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald (price to be announced). Dinner is on own this evening. Day 13 – Depart Zurich & return to USA

Day 9 – Tyrol to Venice Depart your Tyrolean Village and begin your journey to Venice. Drive through the Brenner Pass and enjoy spectacular views of the Dolomites, a mountain range between Austria & Italy. Check in to your hotel in the Venice area for dinner and overnight. Day 10 – Venice Enjoy a full-day tour of Venice. Rising between sea and sky, this fascinating city boasts waterways and boats instead of roads and cars, encompassing 118 islands separated by more than 150 canals. Stand in the Piazza San Marco, bordered on three sides by palatial arcades in two tiers and faced on the other by the Basilica of St. Mark, one of the world’s most magnificent churches. Tour the Basilica with its treasure of marble and gold-background mosaics. From the square you can see the famous Bell Tower and the Clock Tower, as well as the charming pink and white Doge’s Palace. After seeing the romantic Bridge of Sighs, enjoy free time to explore on your own. You can shop, stroll along the bridges and canals or even indulge in a gondola ride along the Grand Canal. Dinner on own this evening or optional Venice island dinner (price to be announced). Day 11 – Verona & Lake Garda Travel to Verona, home to Roman ruins and a courtyard that is reminiscent of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, whose story was set in Verona. Stop at Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake and enjoy the scenery before continuing on to Milan. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 12 – Milan Explore Milan today, home to great Fashion houses such as Armani, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. This picturesque Italian city boasts the best of the old world and the new. Enjoy a city tour and a visit to the Teatrale alla Scala museum where you can learn about the history of Italian operas and see displays full of costumes and set pieces. This afternoon you may shop and explore on your own or take an optional tour to see Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” mural (price to be announced). Return to your hotel in Milan for overnight.
